Hello friends! I bet you forgot that this blog existed. Sadly, it appears that I did too. How in THE WORLD did I go an ENTIRE YEAR without blogging my beautiful clients? There was so much goodness in 2012! I’m ashamed and I’ve promised myself that I will not neglect this lovely space like that ever. again!
That said… I’m thrilled to bringing sexy cuteness back with this most awesome cake smash session. I’ve been wanting to do a cake smash session for a good little while now… yet, somehow, every time I had lined one up it fell through for one reason or another.
So here’s the thing: This was my first cake smash session but this little lady has been in front of my lens before. She’s almost a pro by now and I just adore seeing my WLP clients growing up right before my eyes. And another thing… cake smash sessions are the best!
Cake: Made by Lily’s talented Mommy.
Adorable Tutu’s By: The Green Crocodile.

Happy, happy birthday Lily! You’re just as sweet as ever and have turned into such a happy, fun little girl.

Ahhh fall! My my absolute favorite time of the year. There’s something magical about autumn. The green foliage explodes into an array of brilliant jeweled colors. The heat and humidity make way to warm afternoons and crisp cool evenings. Sundresses and flip flops are replaced with comfy sweaters and fabulous boots (I’m kind of digging these ones). One of my favorite accessories though – especially for the cooler months – is a fantastic hat. I absolutely adore a great hat.
Hats are perhaps my favorite accessory for the little ones too so I was thrilled when I realized my little guy seemed to share my fondness for them.
A couple of years ago I came across Born To Love Clothing and all of their fun, funky and fabulous hats for children. I’m thrilled to have recently had the opportunity to do a session styled around a few of their awesome hats.
I’m even more excited to share a special discount code for all of my awesome readers. Seriously these are the cutest hats and they’re made really well also (because we all know how delicate our children are wearing their clothing). There’s some cute ones for the girls as well as the boys.
Please scroll through the images below and then visit Born To Love Clothing here. Coupon code ‘Whitelilac‘ may be used for 20% off of your purchase.

Special thanks to Felicia from Born To Love Clothing for putting up with all of my emails and the fantastic discount for WLP fans. Until next time, friends.

Little Earthquake | Southern Maryland Newborn Photographer

It’s been a little while. Let’s just say that things have been crazy here in Maryland. Hurricane Irene had us without power for several days. Then came the “build an ark and load it two-by-two” torrential rain storm. On top of the already saturated ground, the rain caused flooding the likes of which I’ve never seen. But before all of that we had a 5.8 magnitude earthquake hit the area and this sweet little bundle was born during the quake. Talk about making an entrance!

As long as we kept her wrapped up, she was okay with pretty much anything. Those little hands made their way out most of time, however.

And this is big sister, who was very interested in what I was doing with her baby sister.

Until next time, friends.

Which one? Help me choose, please!

Happy Monday, friends! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend.
Me? Busy! Busy! And things are only going to get more incredibly hectic over the next several weeks. I’m enjoying the last few sane moments before it all gets crazy with back-to-school, fall and holiday sessions (look for a mini-session announcement soon), another newborn session, retirement parties and this.
This past weekend, hubby and I took the little guy to the carnival for a bit. Love this shot but can’t decide which edit I like. Help me pick, please… Which one do you prefer?
*editors note: I shrunk the two color images so they could be compared side by side, since it can be difficult to see the difference between the two images otherwise. Thanks for the feedback friends.

1) Retro Love Edit

2) Wham Edit

3) B&W Film Edit
Which one do you prefer? 1) Retro Love edit, 2) Wham edit or 3) B&W Film edit?
Thanks for your help.

Baby Aleeah | Newborn Session

This was a special session for me since little 12 day old Aleeah was my first newborn in quite some time. She also happens to be a great niece. We were a little crunched for time but got some great shots – even if sweet little Aleeah wasn’t quite sure what all the commotion was about.

She didn’t want to do much sleeping at first.

After a little something to eat and snuggling, she settled right in though. How sweet is that little face?

Maybe she’s still a bit hungry? Or she’s dreaming in Italian.

Yeah, this one isn’t helping much with my baby fever. <3

Thank you, Mommy and Daddy for letting me work with your precious little girl!
